I got a book voucher for Christmas which has to be one of the best presents to get me - I just love books! With immense pleasure, I perused the book shop and here is my haul of books; two novels, a 2018 diary and a baby record book for the little one that will hopefully be joining us soon.
I promise I will write my diary more regularly than I did last year - joking…we’ll see how it goes. But a diary is a nice way to keep up with writing when I may not have time for bigger projects. I also appreciate being able to look back and see what I did earlier in the year, especially when my memory gets a bit hazy on the details. And it’s a great place to vent without chewing anyone’s ear off!
The novels I chose are The Reader on the 6.27 by Jean-Paul Didierlaurent and The One Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out The Window and Disappeared by Jonas Jonasson. Both titles intrigued me and the second one was recommended to me. I have just started The Reader on the 6.27 and I am already engrossed. What is the machine the protagonist talks of and how can he stand his job, day in and day out?
What about you? What are you reading or hoping to read this year?
